My Task

Maxidoo POS is a revolutionary solution tailored to restaurants, offering seamless management from order booking to bill settlement. This transformative Android application simplifies restaurant operations, including table booking, order management, cancellations, and more. As the UI/UX designer for Maxidoo POS, my mission was to craft a user-friendly experience that empowers hotel restaurant managers, kitchen managers, and staff, even those who aren't tech-savvy.

The Challenge :

Maxidoo POS aimed to streamline the complex process of managing a restaurant within a hotel, including room service food orders.

Audience Personas :

Hotel Restaurant Manager (Persona: Rashi):Rashi, an experienced manager, needed a robust app to efficiently oversee restaurant operations and ensure top-notch guest experiences.

Kitchen Manager (Persona: Ashok) : Ashok, kitchen expert, required a user-friendly platform to manage food orders seamlessly, keeping the kitchen running smoothly.

Restaurant Staff (Persona: Lovina) : Lovina, Luis, a frontline staff member, wasn't tech-savvy. The app needed to be straightforward for him to handle tasks like order modification, bill settlement, and printing.

Design Process :

User Research : Understanding Rashi's need for efficient restaurant management, Ashok's requirement for kitchen order streamlining, and Lovina's need for simplicity informed design choices.

Mobile-First Approach : The Android app was crafted with a mobile-centric design, emphasizing ease of use for all, especially Lovina, with screens for food selection, steward selection, bill printing, order modification, and more.

Brand Alignment : The app maintained Maxidoo's brand identity while optimizing for mobile, ensuring Rashi's familiarity with the brand remained intact.

Usability Testing : Comprehensive usability testing included Luis, ensuring the app met his user-friendliness needs.

Iteration : Continuous refinement was undertaken based on user feedback, catering to Emma's desire for efficiency, Alex's need for seamless kitchen management, and Luis's desire for a simple interface.

Key Achievements :

Efficient Restaurant Management : Rashi could efficiently manage the restaurant, from table booking to bill settlement, ensuring smooth operations.

Streamlined Kitchen Operations : Ashok found the app intuitive, simplifying kitchen order processing and ensuring timely service.

User-Friendly Experience : Lovina Luis, despite not being tech-savvy, navigated the app with ease, handling tasks like order modification and bill settlement seamlessly.
